Lady Library’s Top 5 books of ’09

The end of the year is near and I thought it’d be nice to share with you the five books I’ve enjoyed reading most in 2009!

Because I’ve already told you about most of them during the year I will not bore you with info what each book is about, you figure that out yourself :P

Jigs and Reels (Paperback)My number 5 is: Jigs and Reels by Joanne Harris

This is the last book I read in 2009… And it was perfect!!! It was a book of short stories by the amazing writer Joanne Harris and she did a wonderful job. How she can write 10-page stories that still stick by you long after you read them is beyond me.
This writer + book is amazing!

Of Mice and Men (Paperback) by John Steinbeck

Number 4: Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck

You just don’t see the end of this book coming, when it does it shocks you…
I cried at the end of this book, so it definitely deserves a spot in my top 5 of this year!
For description see my earlier entry “Lady Library’s Top 5″

I Am the Messenger (Paperback) by Markus Zusak

And now for number 3: I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak

One word for this writer: genious! Amazing book, once again. And if you don’t know what I mean by “once again” you’re crazy! You should be reading his other book (The Book Thief) right now!!
I mean it…! NOW!

The Gargoyle (Paperback) by Andrew DavidsonThe runner up: The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson

This book had the potential to be my favorite book of all time (and that means something!) but the stupid ending just ruined the whole book L Still I recommend you so so so much to read it. Boy / girl doesn’t matter, everyone should read it.
This is a masterpiece!

Night by Elie Wiesel

And now, ladies and gentlemen, for the number one of 2009, drum roll please! It’s Night by Elie Wiesel!

You really should read it to know what I’m talking about. The feeling you get while reading this book is surreal. The fact that it has all really happened makes it all the more bone-chilling.
If you haven’t read it yet please do in 2010!

I’ve read 55 books in 2009 and these 5 were the ones that amazed me the most. I hope 2010 will bring me and you as much (or more) wonderful books to read.
Another top 5 (yeah another one :P)  on litchiliciousz.nl soon (next year to be exact :p )

 !!!HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Love, Lady Library

MissfitYup, it’s been a while since I wrote a review but I have been a busy bee during that time!
In this blog I’ll review just one book. Don’t fret, I’ll update again soon (before the end of the year, pinky promise) with a top 5 of all the books I’ve read this year!
But the order of business today is reviewing Missfit, a book by Maria Beaumont.
